The Economic conditions are
forcing us home to raise new
support earlier than we
intended. We are going further
into debt each month and
consistently being over-drawn.
We need to raise $4,500 for
flights to get home to remedy
this.
The economic reasons for our
financial hardship are:
1. The Shrinking
U$ Dollar.
In 2001 every $1,000
purchased £714. Today it
only buys £500.
It is like putting $100 in
your wallet when you leave
the bank and when you arrive
at the store there is only
$65 left.
2. New Tax Laws.
The IRS has been looking
closer at religious groups
due to Islamic funding of
terrorists. Therefore
all religious groups
transferring money overseas
are being closely watched by
the government.
New tax laws have been
introduced which are
increasing our tax
obligations. Starting this
July, we have to find an
additional $500 each month
to pay the increase over
what we have been struggling
to pay. We are not able to
absorb this extra increase
and must return to raise
additional support. These
changes will also affect our
UK tax burden which is yet
to be determined. We
suspect this could be an
additional $500 - $700
increase for our UK monthly
taxes.
We were not aware that the
increase of our taxes would be
this high and we just learned of
this a week ago. Perhaps if we
were aware sooner we would have
been able to plan and save for
our tickets to return.
Thankfully, we have been
preparing to turn the work over
to a British man Steve
Montgomery. We have been
preparing Steve and his wife
Jane for the ministry for many
months now. We are just
turning it over sooner than we
had planned.

current balance of our goal.
Also, the missions office will
need to know what these funds
are for, so please mark the
funds for this urgent request as
“Furlough Fund”
We fear that other missionaries
too will be struggling with
these difficult economic
conditions. We trust God is
going meet these needs and we
want to thank you in advance for
your help.
